Rockland Youth Symphony

The Rockland Youth Symphony is a full symphony orchestra for students 12-25. Participating students must have completed NYSSMA level 5 or 6 and/or provide a teacher recommendation. The orchestra rehearses Monday evenings from 6:30-9:00 pm at Willow Grove Elementary School in North Rockland Under the direction of renowned violinist and conductor Mr. Everhard Paredes, the orchestra performs two concerts a year. Last year's programming included the works of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and others in unique programs featuring soloists, dancers, and the occasional audience participation.

Presto Strings

Presto Strings begins its second season this September 2025. Under the direction of Katie Allen, this string ensemble provides a unique performing opportunity of playing with peers of the same level from Rockland County and surrounding communities. For students having completed NYSSMA level 3 or 4, and/or providing teacher recommendation, they will rehearse weekly on Monday evenings from 6:15pm-8:15pm at the Willow Grove Elementary School in North Rockland and perform two concerts with RYS and Allegro Winds.
