The Rockland County Music Teachers Guild, an organization that has been serving music students of Rockland County for over 60 years, is delighted to announce the third season of the Rockland Youth Symphony. Beginning with this 25-26 season, we are thrilled to have Everhard Paredes join us as our new music Director of the full symphony Orchestra. Mr. Paredes is a violinist, educator, chamber musician, orchestra coach and conductor and has served as concertmaster of the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Maestro Katie Allen will continue to lead our younger string ensemble, Presto Strings.

 

Our goal is to bring dedicated young musicians together to play in a full symphony orchestra. Working together weekly, and with the support of music educators throughout our county, we are thrilled to be a part of providing a showcase for the musical talents of our young people through performances of timeless music. 

 

Founders of Rockland Youth Symphony are RCMTG members Rosemary Waltzer, French Horn player and violinist, Carole Tilson, cellist, Diane Lang, violinist, and bassoonist, Steve Cohen, pianist, and Michael Fennelly, pianist and conductor.
